Search Law is a free search engine that searches through information from Australian lawyer and law firm web sites.

The Search Law search engine is based on the information indexed by the Google search engine, which is then edited by our volunteer editors so that when you use the main search facility on this site, you are only receiving results from web sites of Australian lawyers and law firms listed in Google. Search Law is an open community search engine, please check our linking/sharing policy if you would like to use the Search Law search engine on your web site.

Search Law believes that there is now a wealth of qualified legal information published on the thousands of law firm web sites in Australia and that priority in legal searches should be given to these law firm web sites so that consumers of legal services can easily find the right information or lawyer.

But due to Link Popularity scoring within search engine algorithms that favour large web sites, government sites, organisation and association web sites and because many words used within legal information searches are generic, being used across many non legal sites, that people are not able to effectively use Google to find information from or about lawyers.

Just try doing a search on Google for “Sydney lawyer” and you will see that only 4 of the top 10 results are actually law firm web sites.

Search Law is the solution when searching for lawyers or qualified legal information written by lawyers.

Search Law also includes a lawyer directory, which is separate to the standard search facility. This is a human edited directory that provides law firms a free or low cost option to list their web site that will help sites to be indexed and build up their own link popularity.

Search Law also includes a legal article database so that law firms can submit their content for better exposure and so that consumers of legal information can easily find legal information from lawyers on this web site.
